Friends of LINC is always looking for ways to improve our linear park. Whether it’s benches to enjoy a book or take in the sunshine and a quiet breeze, adding paved and wooded trails to bike or walk your furry friend, or as a venue to enjoy public art.
On behalf of Friends of LINC, I am excited to share the installation of “Vestige”, a new
sculpture donated by CRLG at CJ Smith Park is now complete. CRLG is all about bringing the
arts to America and takes pride in encouraging appreciation of art in the South. We are grateful
to the team who transported the sculpture, the City of Newnan workers who installed it, and to
CRLG for donating such a great piece of public art for our community to enjoy for years to
come.
We are less than a month away from our annual community party, Ready, Set, LINC: Friday,
April 19, 2024, from 4 – 8 pm. This year will feature a fun run, DJ, kid’s activities, food trucks,
face painting, and more.
Also, back again this year is Battle of the Bands from 6 – 8 pm. Bring your lawn chair or a
blanket and enjoy the full set of bands to entertain you as they compete for 1 st prize. Hope to
see you there. It is truly an event that can be enjoyed by the entire family.
The LINC is a success because of support from our community and people like you who
use our trail systems every day–and help us make Newnan an even more beautiful place and
enables us to provide programming and new features to our linear park.
