No One Walks Alone

LINC recently had a successful event alongside Pathways Center. No One Walks Alone was a great way to bring our community together for suicide prevention and awareness. This event had many different activities and sponsors to share coping techniques, so everyone in our community can take care of their mental health and support their friends and family who might be struggling with depression and other mental health concerns.

Members of our community honored their loved ones who lost their lives to suicide. Pathways displayed names and photos along the Honoree Trail, encouraging everyone who walked the trail to honor these loved ones who were gone too soon.

Along the trail and in the park, we had many sponsors and partners sharing ways to cope with depression and anxiety. These included the YMCA offering yoga and meditation classes, Backstreet Community Arts sharing how art can help us heal, City of Hope Cancer Center hosting a drum circle, Southern Arc Dance hosting a dance station, The Inclusion Project organizing a DIY Sensory Bin station, as well as many more.

Some of the other groups that joined us included Coweta County Parks and Recreation, More Music Foundation, First Command Financial Planning, Newnan Regional Amateur Radio Club, and BOS Medical.

Our Honoree Trail spanned 2 miles of the LINC and the Newnan Trolley was happy to provide transportation from the end of the trail back to the park.

Pathways Center and AnotherWay Foundation came together with the LINC to create a memorable event that we hope will help our community cope with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. We want to see our community thrive. Suicide Prevention is something we care deeply about and are glad so many members of our community came out to honor their loved ones while learning new coping techniques.

Fundraiser for Mural on Greison Trail

Do you want to see more art along the LINC? We take pride in bringing art to the Newnan community. Friends of LINC is proud to announce muralist Krystal Maynor will be working with the LINC team on a 180-degree mural for the tunnel at Greison Trail.

In order to make this dream project come together, we need the help of our friends and supporters. We are working to raise $9,500 by November 1st. Art is of the utmost importance to the LINC team. We love encouraging art appreciation in our local community by bringing new art installations to our friends and neighbors.
