Krystal Maynor’s Mural Is Complete!

The LINC has been working closely with muralist Krystal Maynor to bring a wonderful mural to our LINC trail. We never could have done this without all of your generous donations. Thank you so much for all of your support, so we can continue to bring more art into our Newnan community and continue to make the LINC a better place. We are excited to announce Krystal Maynor’s immersive mural has been completed!

Maynor’s mural is located in the pedestrian tunnel on Greison Trail. Maynor recently spoke with the Newnan Times-Herald about the influences behind her newest mural. She shared that the flora and fauna featured in the mural can all be found in the local area. This mural showcases the beauty of our town, while celebrating the importance of art.

The LINC takes great pride in bringing art to our community, and this new mural will be one more beautiful spot to visit along the LINC trail system. We hope seeing Maynor’s beautiful work will foster creativity and an adoration of art throughout our community.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

We are pleased to announce the date for this mural’s unveiling! We will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony January 14th at 10:30am at the Greison Trail Tunnel to honor Krystal Maynor’s wonderful work and unveil her immersive mural to the LINC community.

Staying Safe in the Winter Months

The LINC trail system is a great way to explore Newnan, but with the changing weather, we need to remember to stay safe while exploring the outdoors. We want all our Newnan friends to be able to enjoy the LINC during these cold winter months, but don’t forget these safety tips:

Make sure to dress in layers, so you can stay warm. Layering also helps for those days where it starts cold, but gradually gets warmer. You can always remove a layer, but it’s better to start safe and warm, even if the cold only lasts a few hours.

Don’t forget your sunscreen. Even though it’s cold outside, it doesn’t mean the sun isn’t still shining down on us. Sunscreen is always important if you’re spending time outside, even during the coldest months of the year.

Remember to stay hydrated. It’s easy to forget to drink enough water when you’re spending time outdoors during the winter, but dehydration is always a problem. Packing warm water, instead of ice cold water can make you more likely to keep drinking on your outdoor adventures. This way, you stay hydrated and keep yourself warm.

Please stay safe on the trails and have a wonderful winter as you explore everything nature has to offer in these colder months.
